Demo Mode

The demo mode is designed for testing purposes only, to allow you to prove to yourself that the software will work for your application. There are some restrictions in its use. Of course, Vaquita welcomes any feedback you may care to give - in order to provide you with what you want !

The PlugIn will operate in this mode for a period of 28 days after installation - a warning dialogue will appear when you start Workstation during the final week to remind you to purchase a licence if you want to continue using it. After this period, the PlugIn will not operate, and you cannot re-install it (well, you can, but it will not work). The settings dialogue will only display the Vaquita Licence page, so that if you do choose to purchase a licence, you can activate the PlugIn again. The same will happen if you try to re-install the PlugIn during the demo period - the PlugIn will not operate, and the only page you will be able to see is the licence page, irrespective of the original start of the Demo period.

Licencing

There are several licencing options. Operating instructions appear below.

System

• Lowest-cost, software based licence
• Single licence for a specific PC (actually specific to the hard disk)
• Fastest method to be up and running.
• Licence code cannot be transferred (it will terminate at the same time as your hard disk)
• Particularly suitable for short-term projects.

Dongle

• Dongle-based hardware licence
• USB
• transfer to any system.

Site

• A dongle-based network licence.
• USB dongle plugs into a "licence server"
• allows any system on the network a full licence
• maximum number (5 or 15) at any one time.

Single System Software Licence

E-mail the following to Vaquita :-

• Your Name
• Your Institution
• Your Serial Number exactly as shown from the PlugIn Licence dialogue

After payment, you will be sent a Registration Code

• Paste the code into the Registration Code section of the Licence dialogue
• Press "OK"

If successful,

• enter your name and institution.

Please use the same name and institution as you originally sent us. We will be able to help out if you have problems later, if we can track down your details correctly.

If the registration fails,

• Double check the serial numbers match
• Double check the registration number

Dongle - Single licence

• Plug the dongle into a USB port

  Windows should recognise this and install drivers for a "Human Interface Device"

• Open Workstation Pipeline dialogue
• Open the PlugIn Licence dialogue
• Licence status should read "Full licence - local dongle"

Network Site Licence

Licence Server Installation

• Choose a sensible licence server (!)
  it does not need to be one of the systems running the software
• Download the Licence Server Files from the website
• Copy all the files to a convenient location on your server
• Run the licence server program "Matrix-NET" (mxnet32.exe)
• Click the Matrix-NET icon in the system tray, to open the control window
• Click on the Settings button, and select "Start Matrix-NET at System Startup"
• Verify the "Server File" is convenient for your system
  This file will be shared on the network
• Click "Okay" to close the window, leaving the program running

In Windows,

• Create the path on your local drive for the "Server File"
• Share the folder with Read/Write access for the users.

Client Licence Settings

• Open Workstation Pipeline dialogue
• Open the PlugIn Licence Dialogue
• Select "Use Network Licence"
• enter the path to the ServerFile
  as the file appears to the local machine, e.g. something like "\\ServerName\SharedFolder\BP.MX", not the path as it is on the server
• Press Okay,

  You shoud see a succesful message. If there is a problem, more information appears in the licence status window.
